What are Crowns & Bridges?

Crowns and bridges are restorative dental treatments that can help to restore the function, appearance and structure of your smile after losing or damaging a tooth.

Crows and bridges fill the space left in your smile by a missing tooth in order to help you maintain your natural facial shape in addition to your ability to speak and chew without issue.

By repairing structural problems such as damaged or missing teeth using a dental crown or bridge, our dentists can change your smile's appearance – and preserve your oral health.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are hollow artificial teeth that are placed over an entire decayed or damaged tooth in order to restore its original shape, size and colour. Dental crowns can also help to change the appearance of and strengthen broken or damaged teeth that would otherwise need to be extracted.

Crowns are strong and can be made from a variety of materials, including porcelain and metal. They look and function like natural teeth, and if cared for properly, can last 10 years or more.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a natural-looking restoration that 'bridges' a gap of missing teeth in your mouth. Made up of one or more artificial teeth, the bridge is affixed to the teeth on either side of the gap to fill the space.

Dental bridges help to prevent your other teeth from shifting out of their natural positions in your mouth to fill the space left by a missing tooth. If this were to happen, it can directly lead to more serious health issues including gum disease and the degradation of your jaw bone.
